- Job Corps Credentialing Program

Impact: Job Corps credentialing program meets employer requirements
The U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Job Corps launched a system-wide-credentialing program to meet workforce needs by updating and aligning its career and technical training programs. The organization now utilizes industry-identified skills based on internationally recognized computing standards found in Certiport Internet and Computing Core Certification (IC³®) and Microsoft® Office Specialist. Job Corp students in the Finance and Business Services industry tracks will learn and validate current and relevant skills while achieving industry-recognized credentials.

- Computer Literacy Certification System

Impact: Statewide digital literacy initiative involves Certiport IC³
A multi-year agreement with the Hawaii Department of Education (HDOE) was established to implement a statewide Computer Literacy Certification System (CLCS) for eighth graders. The program leveraged Certiport Internet and Computing Core Certification (IC³®) in the largest such implementation at that time. Terms of the agreement called for the training and testing of more than 14,000 students per year and their teachers, following Hawaii's Educational Technology Contents Standards.

- Mississippi Tech Prep Program

Impact: Mississippi DOE revamps Tech Prep Program with Certiport IC³
The Mississippi Department of Education selected Certiport Internet and Computing Core Certification (IC³®) for teachers and students across the state as a component essential to overhauling the 12-year-old Tech Prep program. Training and certification was offered to all information communications technology educators followed by the training and potential certification of all seventh and eight grade students, making Mississippi a leader in seeking to become the first digitally literate state in the continental United States.

Impact: Island nation Mauritius makes achievement of Certiport IC³ mandatory
The Mauritius initiative was launched to help the island nation become an economic bridge between the emerging information technology power and the African continent. The initiative made the achievement of the world's premier digital literacy credential—Certiport IC³—a mandatory requirement for high school graduation. The goal of the Prime Minister and Cabinet of Mauritius, who approved and designated the program as high priority, is to train and certify thousands students in IC³ in a four year period.

- China Railway Publishing House Project

Impact: China's leading IT publisher selects Certiport to deliver digital literacy
Certiport partnered in a wide-ranging technology agreement with China Railway Publishing House, a subsidiary of China Railway Group Ltd. (0390.HK), to provide the Certiport Internet & Computing Benchmark™ assessment, CCI Learning Solutions courseware for Certiport IC³® and the platform to deliver additional IT learning content to students and China Railway Group employees. The agreement permits the publisher to expand its offering and reach into education. Not only will localized CCI courseware for Certiport IC³ be delivered with the Benchmark assessment into more than 1,000 vocational technology high schools and colleges but also the company's other tech-related titles in a highly engaging online format. In April, Railway Publishing House with the support of Certiport China will kick off an aggressive three-year plan to establish a Certiport testing center in each of the targeted schools, paving the way for Benchmark and Certiport IC³ certification exam administration.

- Government IT Training and Certification (GITTC) Project

Impact: Oman chooses Certiport to certify 93,000 civil service employees
The Information Technology Authority (ITA) of Oman's most ambitious learning and certification initiative to date is based on the global digital literacy standards of Certiport Internet and Computing Core Certification (IC³®). The initiative will certify the country's 93,000 civil service employees over a three-year period. Commencing in phases, more than 200 individuals will certify and receive advanced training to master global digital literacy standards and professional instructor methodologies. These trainers will then become the vehicle for rolling out learning and certification essential to the GITTC program for employees of various government branches. GITTC will become an employment boon for Omanis hired to support the initiative both now—as trainers or technical support workers—and in the future—with new roles created to strengthen Oman's emerging e-government projects.

- CLIMB (Computer Learning in My Backyard)

Impact: CLIMB targets 30,000 of Cleveland's low-income residents
The initiative was launched to offer technology training, financial literacy, and Certiport Internet and Computing Core Certification (IC³®) to 30,000 low-income residents over a five-year period. Certiport joined the City of Cleveland and its strategic partners, Cuyahoga Community College, Cleveland Digital Vision, IBM, Cleveland Housing Network, Ashbury Computer Center, Famicos Foundation, SBC, PerceptIS and others in this, the largest citywide digital literacy initiative of its kind to date in the United States.

- Navajo Nation Digital Literacy Initiative

Impact: Certiport IC³ helps Navajo youth seeking fresh start
A partnership with the Navajo Nation and Utah Valley State College (UVSC) to develop a program designed to assist Navajo youth who have dropped out of high school to obtain a fresh start in learning vital career skills and a second chance to earn a high school diploma. The initiative available through 110 Navajo Nations Chapters (community centers) includes personal development to achieve a digital literacy certification, high school diploma, college credit and new career direction.

Impact: Certiport and CCA initiate Census of Digital Skills
Certiport and The Canadian Charity Association (CCA) launched a nationwide partnership initiative designed to allow marginalized residents to assess and upgrade their computing skills. The program also initiated a Census of Digital Skills. Community Computer Centres administered by the CCA offer Certiport Internet and Computing Core Certification (IC³®), a globally recognized standard for digital literacy.

- Brunei e-Government Project

Certiport helped pave the way for members of the Bruneian workforce to learn and validate information and communications technology (ICT) skills while earning globally recognized credentials. Parties representing the South-East Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Center for Vocational and Technical Education and Training (SEAMEO Voctech) and Wordware, a Certiport Solution Provider, provided Microsoft® Office and Certiport Internet and Computing Core Certification (IC³) programs for both the private and public sectors in Brunei.

- Coffee Creek Correctional Facility Project

Impact: Offline certification prepares offenders for employment
At Coffee Creek Correctional Facility (CCCF), offenders have access to such training via a Computer Technology program, which offers computing skills relevant to employment and academia outside of the prison system. With certification of these employable skills made possible by Certiport® offline-testing technology, participants are encouraged to achieve, contribute to society and improve their lives. To help correctional institutions like CCCF meet their employability program objectives, Certiport provides a comprehensive approach to developing digital skills while providing industry-recognized credentials such as Certiport Internet and Computing Core Certification (IC³®) for digital literacy and Microsoft® Office Specialist for desktop productivity.

- Life Line Project
Location: Marion, Ohio, USA

Impact: Corrections computer-training program instructs 900 annually
Life Line, an industrial computer-training program, took shape at the Marion, Ohio, prison. Charged with helping prepare inmates for successful re-entry into their communities after release from prison, Life Line became a source for inmates to become exposed to computers and technology. The program now serves up to 900 men annually. Life Line provides offenders Microsoft® Office certification of skills—physical proof they can take home upon release from prison.
